Finding a match in Shardmoon is now much faster. If no other player is searching, a computer opponent steps in after 25 seconds instead of two minutes.
Ghosts: play against the decks of other players
That computer opponent is now usually a ghost: it plays the saved deck of a real Shardmoon player, with their name, avatar, card back and board. The player is not there in person; the computer plays their cards. You always see this: a Ghost badge stands next to the name.
So every deck you build can turn up in other players' matches. If your ghost wins, you get 10 Silver, up to 10 times a day, even while you are offline.
What stays the same
- Ranked is only played against real players.
- Games against ghosts count for quests, XP and Silver like other Quick Games against the computer.
- Gold copies grow (Kintsugi) only in wins against real players.
Also new today
- Fogbank now also stops traps: setting a trap counts as casting a spell. If your opponent has a Fogbank set, your trap has no effect and is lost.
- Quick Game widens the search sooner: after 10 seconds to the neighbouring classes, after 18 seconds to every searching player.
- The opponent's name now sits right above their deck classes.
- When no ghost is available, a character from the Shardmoon book steps in: Hamish Kell, Bo Tamsin, Dax Corrin, Sister Amaranth, Maren Wren or Greta Holm, each with the deck, portrait, card back and board that fit them, marked AI.
- The search clock in Quick Game now stays in your language.
- Your opponent's jokers are now shown at the top, next to their deck classes; used ones are greyed out. Tap one to read it.
- Ranked now opens at level 8 instead of 10.
- Shardlight now makes every card cost 1 less this turn: Shardlings, spells and traps.
- If you press End turn while Shardlings could still attack but none is chosen, the game asks first: Are all attackers selected?
- Tutorial: while the opponent plays, the note now sits small at the top, so you can follow the moves in the middle of the table.
