Mist class guide

Mist Shardlings woke in the fog of the Veil Isles at the outer rim. Owls, moths, mantises, cats and jellyfish of violet crystal. Small, clever and full of tricks. The heroine of the Shardmoon novel binds one of them, a greedy Veilowl called Hush.

Mist wins by being somewhere else. Its tools move Shardlings around: Fogmoth and Phase Serpent push an enemy to the next lane, Mirage Seer swaps two enemies, Vanish and Vanishing Mist send an enemy back to the hand with every earlier stage, so the opponent pays for all of it again. Veil makes a Shardling immune to enemy spells, traps and abilities. Foresight draws two cards for one energy. Mist relies on traps and tricks more than on big hitters, so it wins by making the opponent waste turns.

How to play it

• Send evolved Shardlings back. Vanish and Vanishing Mist return a Stage 3 together with its earlier stages, which costs the opponent several turns of energy.
• Use the push when it lands on something. If a Shardling stands in the lane the enemy is pushed into, that one goes back to the hand.
• Set traps where the opponent wants to go. Mirage Mist makes an attack miss, Fogbank stops a spell, Haunting Fog weakens the next Shardling played.
• Protect your best Shardling with Veil. Haze gives Veil for one energy, and Nightlynx and Tidewraith have it already.
